Am in contemplation of opening up an actual physical Temple of Jediism in my area of residence, which is Cleburne, Texas. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Just became ordained as a Jediist Minister. Interested parties let me know! May the Force be with you.

Peace be with you, brothers and sisters!

After some months of earnest if intermittent effort, I have compiled a sacred text for a sect of the Creativist faith, which I have named Western Orthodox Creativism. The reasons for this name and presentation are explained within the Introduction of the text itself, which I humbly present via the Google docs link below:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RI_wxKeErk2GzEJzfEcmTnEfLp-VzZwoJT8AXv9OzSE/edit?usp=sharing

The entire idea and ethos of Independent Social Ministries has captured my imagination, and I truly feel that I have found my calling within this faith. I welcome creative insight, for thereby we mutually engage the sacraments of creation and contemplation!

In grace,

Father Nicholas

The light and dark of Jediism doesn’t necessarily speak of good and evil. If you consider the path to the dark side is the corruption of self leading to suffering, and a blinding of the light keeps you from seeing dangers around you. Jediist should be seeking balance within themselves while striving to live “Christ like lives.”

Truly, Jediism is a full array of adaptations of other belief systems. The path of a Jedi is and individualized one of self discovery, adaptation, and interpretation.

“The truths we cling to depend greatly on our own points of view.” Ben Kenobi.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>I just found this website so not really sure how behind I am other than 2 years after your posts. There is a greater Jediist community outside this ordination.</p>
My take on titles for “clergy” here should include emissary, consular, possibly sentinel or guardian. While Monk or even Warrior Monk seem like usable Jediist titles, Warrior Monk may not be a mentionable religion leader title, imo.

As far as what is next, what training have your had to be a Jedi, or minister for that matter? These sites are designed to allow you to officiate over ceremonies such as weddings, legally.

So what’s next should be honing your Jediism practices and establishing yourself to be a minister in some kind of covert. Be a member of the greater Jedi community. Figure out your path so that you could help others along theirs.

“The modern age has witnessed the rise of a number of new natural-law regions, such as liberalism, Communism, capitalism, nationalism and Nazism. These creeds do not like to be called religions, and refer to themselves as ideologies. But this is just a semantic exercise. If a religion is a system of human norms and values that is founded on belief in a superhuman order, then Soviet Communism was no less a religion than Islam.” ”
–Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind,” Harari, Yuval Noah, 2015. “New York Times Bestseller.

Harari makes a good point, although these modern “natural-law religions” are quite different than what we propose here at ISM.co. How do you suppose we differentiate between our own notion of a universal religion (see our Humanifesto) and these more political religions?

Herewith, I propose the following four texts should be the “Sacred” texts of Pythonism:

As our “Sacrosanct Scriptures” we should employ

The Complete Monty Pythons Flying Circus; All the Words Volume One

and

The Complete Monty Pythons Flying Circus : All the Words, Volume 2

As our hymnal during devotions we should employ

The Fairly Incomplete and Rather Badly Illustrated Monty Python Song Book

Finally, as our Catechism for the instruction of initiates into the faith we should employ

Monty Python and Philosophy: Nudge Nudge, Think Think

If no “splitter” voices are raised in one months time from the publication of these texts for consideration, these texts shall be adopted as the “Sacrosanct, and Sacred, VERY Impressive, inspired from on High, Holy Texts of Pythonism.”
