Much is made of the parallels between Taoism and Jediism, but perhaps the most important difference is that whereas in Jediism there is a dark and a light side to the force, in Taoism the light and dark (or yin and yang) sides are not good and evil, but rather two parts of a complementary whole. In some ways, Jediism is closer to the dualism of Christianity.
The light and dark of Jediism doesn’t necessarily speak of good and evil. If you consider the path to the dark side is the corruption of self leading to suffering, and a blinding of the light keeps you from seeing dangers around you. Jediist should be seeking balance within themselves while striving to live “Christ like lives.”
Truly, Jediism is a full array of adaptations of other belief systems. The path of a Jedi is and individualized one of self discovery, adaptation, and interpretation.
