Toeist Philosophy
The “Toe” in Toeism doesn’t stand for a digit on your foot, but rather the acronym “Theory of Everything.” It’s the idea that all religions are essentially “Theories of Everything,” or attempts to contain the world in a bottle. Toeism is a fanciful religion for people who don’t really have any interest in religion at all. This is a good choice for staunch Atheists or even people who aren’t especially interested in philosophy or psychology.
Toeist History
Toeism came about in the early 2000s with the founding of The Temple of Earth, the world’s first “religion for atheists.” Though the website never went anywhere, largely due to the difficulty of organizing atheists into ideological groups, it’s still online and receives the occasional visitor.
Toeist Practice
Toeists may try to employ some of the aspects of traditional religion to create communities, engage in philosophical debate, or just to be satirical. Ideas can be found at the original Temple of Earth website: www.templeofearth.com

I don’t think atheism means one does not believe in a spiritual life. I think it means one does not follow the tenets of the established religions.
— Amanda Donohoe
No philosophy, no religion, has ever brought so glad a message to the world as this good news of Atheism.
— Annie Besant
Selfishness is the only real atheism; aspiration, unselfishness, the only real religion.
